Couples Yoga Therapy

“Love doesn’t just sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread;

remade all the time, made new.”

– Ursula K. Le Guin

There are all kinds of couples, partnerships, and experiences of love.  What's universal is the need for authentic connection, safety to be who you are, and support to live the life you desire.  A relationship should enhance your life... although there are natural peaks and valleys.  If many of us are honest, we don't always treat ourselves so kindly, so it should come as no surprise that we sometimes don't show up for our relationships the way we'd like, and our partners too.

When should you try couples yoga therapy?

  • When you've been in the valley long enough for it to become the default state of your relationship.

  • When you're riding high on a peak and you realize that it's worth your investment to learn the skills and behaviors to maintain it and come back to it with ease.

  • When you're struggling to navigate pain together.

  • Anytime you think it would be wonderful to know more about each other and also yourself.

  • When you realize that you'd like a deeper, more intimate, and present connection.

  • When you decide that you're ready to love boldly and bravely!

While this may sound like it's geared solely toward romantic relationships, if you reread the above list with a friendship, sibling, parent-child, professional, and any other relationship in mind, you may find most, if not all the bullets could actually apply.  Consider if there is a relationship in your life that fits one or more.

Yoga therapy is a carefully curated mind-body practice to lead people toward the truth within.  Couples yoga therapy helps reveal the truth within as it relates to others.  Not only will it affect the couple in the session, it will have an impact on all of their relationships.

Like individual yoga therapy, couples yoga therapy is not a yoga class, it's therapy.  Most clients have never practiced yoga.  In a session, you can expect the following.

Mindful Movement

Embodied Meditation

Dialogue & Integration

You and your partner will move together, breathe together, and be together in new ways that may be curious and playful, emotional, and educational.  Through this, you will learn how to communicate and listen with complete presence, and connect and move forward with intention.

If there is a relationship in your life that could benefit from couples toga Therapy, contact Christine or schedule a consultation!
