Youth Yoga Therapy

We are born into this world in natural union with our bodies and

innate connection with the more-than-human world.  

 

Youth yoga therapy is an opportunity to remind young people of these vital connections before they are forgotten through adulthood, dissociation, conditioning, stress, and trauma.  

Now is the time to provide skills that will help our youth blossom and continue to bloom.

Yoga Therapy helps young people to:

​

  • Cultivate and sustain self-esteem and a trusting relationship with self and body.

  • Learn how to intentionally engage their nervous system to manage their state of being, stress, and reactivity.

  • Improve focus.

  • Develop communication skills, self-advocacy, and autonomy.

 

Why Yoga Therapy?

 

Yoga therapy uses the body as the primary vehicle for understanding the mind and behavior.  It invites you to partner with the body to manage the nervous system and support mental health and an easeful, joyful life.  It’s therapy that is informed by yoga philosophy and practices; it's not yoga instruction.

  • in couples sessions with a sibling, parent, or other important relation

  • in groups and workshops
